Brian Goetz explains the stream API of Java 8, leveraging lambdas. Indeed, without such a feature, lambdas are not really changing the coding experience.
Javaw 8 has only 3 new features. What's important is not the number but what we could with them.
In the future, we may have some lightweight value type enabling new types like tuples.
